It seems as if almost everyone has a problem with some part of their physical appearance. Some people prefer to have nicer legs, a smaller midsection, bigger boobs, smaller boobs...the list goes on and on. However, while there are those who complain about how they look and don't do anything about it, there are others that completely change the way they look.
An example of extreme cosmetic surgery is a reality show that no longer exists, "The Swan". On that show, average, homely people got the chance to have everything that needed to be changed about them changed. This included a mix of both cosmetic surgery, and physical training. At the end of a certain period of time, the contestants would then compete against a beauty pageant, the winner clearly a person who took well to cosmetic surgery.
It doesn't take too much thinking to realize why such a show didn't last too long. The cosmetic surgery was too extreme, and the contestants were giving a bad message to society - just think what a person could do to change themselves if they had the money. Also, it was promoting the idea that "plastic people" are the ideal definition of beauty. In all honesty, it's better to be a beautiful person on the inside first, rather than being a physically beautiful person who has a very mean temperament. If you're a person who's thinking about changing some, or even just one, aspect of your appearance, make sure that beforehand you know all of the risks.
